ANTIQUES AND DECORATIVE ARTS
This place, our gallery, has beautiful decor that can suit your style: design, vintage, modernist, mid-century, art deco, art nouveau, empire, period, etc…
What is the definition of decorative arts? A lifestyle that reflects an era.
A very diverse art, ornamental everyday objects, interior furnishings, lamps, tapestries, ceramics… Decorative arts reflect the spirit of a period, reproduced in interior design. Craftsmanship and then industry in the mid-19th century combined ornamentation, functionality, object design, and interior architecture. Historically, the furniture has been inspired by the events of its time, empire furniture inspired by warfare and classical symbolism, the Louis XVI style, Majorelle’s furniture for Art Nouveau, the Art Deco interior decoration of ocean liners… The fine arts, also known as major arts, include painting, sculpture, architecture, and photography, their purely artistic nature distinguishes them from the decorative arts, also known as minor arts. We can also mention the applied arts, such as fashion and design, to be comprehensive.
